A Brief History

The Midway Caravan began its life in 1972 as the “Midway Project,” a non-profit company concerned with creating the tools for community celebration. The success of this work led to the formation of the current corporation in 1984. Over the last quarter century the Caravan has offered its interactive shows, family activities, and public pageants across North America. Never straying far from its roots, the Caravan has maintained a determinedly small footprint and a homemade look. Rather than the showcasing of talent, the mission of the Caravan has been to provide the resources for celebration to families at fairs, festivals, theme parks, malls and community events far and wide.
