The Fool’s Journey, New Haven Green


“The Fools Journey” on the New Haven Green, in Connecticut, was our first public pageant.  Later it toured to college campuses.  Volunteers met us at each place and became the characters in the mythical story.

Springtime at Faneuil Hall, Boston


At the Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Boston, we helped to mount a spring festival in 19xx with a musical procession, and mock ceremonial Merchant’s Mummers Play.  Later in the day, we offered St. George & the Dragon Mummers Plays with participants picked from the crowd (see right).

In July 2006, we helped to create a sunset pageant on Waikiki Beach in Honolulu.

Over the years since its earliest experiments in public festivity, the Caravan has helped to invent many pageants and signature events for communities large and small.  The foundations for these projects came from Old World traditions and very modern concepts of revived community participation.  Here
