Anansi (say Ah-nancy) the Spider is a West African folk tale with many variations.  Our version uses masks made from baskets found in the backs of closets or in K-Mart.  This show is especially effective for multi-cultural occasions.  Anansi, the tricky spider teaches us to use our wits to solve problems.

The first Caravan shows began as school assemblies and some of them have moved out into the wider world.  Others have have retained the simple and accessible quality that has been the hallmark of all Midway Caravan programs.

The Fire Safety Show was originally designed for the Travelers Insurance Company to play in elementary schools in Hartford, Conn.  Over the years, it has proved to be a highly effective strategy for engaging younger children in the never-ending problem of knowing what to do if you wake up in a room filled with smoke.

Pecos Bill was created for rodeos and Western fairs and festivals.  Done in the style of an old-time saloon show or melodrama, kids and parents can help make sound effects.  Young participants are picked for Bill and Sue, a family of coyotes, and a band of desperadoes.  This show can be adapted to larger theaters with enhanced stage effects.

The First Farmer was created for agricultural fairs and Green events.  It tells of a young boy 10,000 years ago who was trained as a hunter but discovered he could keep herds of sheep and goats, and grow crops allowing him to settle in a village, send his children to school, and one day buy them iPods.

Dragon Tales includes several stories involving dragons, but the favorite among them is “The Reluctant Dragon,” based on the story by Kenneth Grahame.  This dress-up show is most effective at the Story Wagon in a full-scale Caravan family entertainment environment.
